About AAP, U turns, common sensical 2 cents and why you should still survive !

I am sick of your posts on taking your foot back in your mouth with every step you take. You started off well and somewhere u got greedy - you had everything a rookie could desire in indian polity. You had stalwarts and top business minds with you but still you failed because of lot of bad moves - sometimes reminding me of old days Indian Cricket with best batting line up and yet failing time and again.I am sure if you just stick around a little bit more, may be 5 years, work on the ground, contest in smaller level elections and do good work and that too quietly, it shall have more impact in the long term. However it seems u just want to hog all that you can and at one go. Believe me, the doctors advise against this , the economist too - don’t be a greedy fool.

Its time to get back to Mother Teresa foundation - finish the internship, connect to the people who have labelled u as fraud and try and change perception.You have lost your credibility Mr. Kejriwal. Try and bring it back. Taking u turn again and again and trying to form delhi govt with Congress may be a quick win but will hurt in the long run.I know you won’t be reading this blog and you don’t need to. Its just common sense which you should work with and which is so much at want in your actions.

However the moves u made - irrational policies with 3 months validity, not needed showoff or dharna in Delhi while in power, no security gag , no house gaga, throwing off your wicket on first bouncer saying - its too fast a ball. What did u think "sarkaar chalana bacchon ka kaam hai". It needs a lot of patience, diplomacy and thoughtfulness. Post that trying to play on 442 seats - first election 442 seats - no wonder u dint have funds. Did I miss that you did not speak a word against congress when in power in delhi, the basis of whose corruption laid the foundation of all your speeches earlier. This is another step which will be detrimentalfor you in long run but I still hope you form a govt in Delhi with congress support which I think u will and work hard there, trylearning balance and work your way up.

Still why don't I hate you!

You did one good - highlighted the need for change and brought together youth of this country and the urgency to change but then showed yourself as a talking cuckoo, an inexperienced and definitely who doesn’t know how to run a govt. In fact it felt as it you just wanted to get hit wicket coz u wanted to prepare for the IPL of loksabha. Your reasons may be different but that is how it reflected on the delhites who voted u to majority, india who watched u as a new role model and youth who saw u as a panacea for corruption.

The only reason I want you survive is because I want democracy and not monopoly. We have had 60 years of monopoly and we had enough of it. Not only a good government but a strong opponent is also required to make the democracy work. And I wish you become that before you seek to become the supreme party, else there would be no end to your U Turns. All the best!!!

IMO - Flipkart : what next

Key focus of the company is customer delight and has gone extra mile to deliver that. The numbers show more that 50% as repeat business. This customer loyalty is delightful to any firm.
The company has done lots of good things but IMO, there are still many a milestones to be achieved and I believe with these it is not a distant dream to position Flip Kart as the best e-commerce site nationally & internationally.

Books Segment
FK started off with books and should be closer to their heart still now with only 1% of the book market being captured by online segment. Moreover infibean and rediff realizing the trends are also forcing themselves into book business.
Key Customer Insight: Online reading is going up : According to Forrester research (By Sarah Rotman Epps & James McQuivey) , Dual-screen mobile phones and netbooks will eat into e-reader demand and that most readers don’t read enough.

Another Report suggests that the e-book market has a direct correlation with the internet penetration , the demographic dividend and the mobile and internet convergence

Key Inference : While I see that the ebook reader market might be dominated in sometime by the smart phones, the e-book reading market is there to stay.

Another Customer Insight : Online reading or searching is a direct replacement to books. Hence cannibalization should not be an issue.

Lack of Space, the re-location constraints, etc indicate that a personal digital library would be a better option for fast moving professionals.

Moreover, not all books are qualified/ found great to be kept with him/ her. That is precisely the reason why piracy has taken up in a big way. They just want read an throw books and that throw-away prices.

Flipkart personalized e-Library

Objective : To tie up with the publishing house/authors to publish the books online and collaborate with the High potential user community to build a online digital library for them.
“In Short : To do what i-phone has done to the music industry” ; Price the books as low as 10-20 Rs
Use Subscription model or pay per use model.

Online Publishing

Another business which seems viable is either tie-up with Online publishing house like Pothi.com or do a vertical integration into online publishing area. This shall also help them in e-book selling.

FlipKart Widgets : To be placed in social networking sites .
Social community for Book Lovers supported by Flipkart where people discuss about books new releases etc , comments etc .
While reading the reviews or chatting with their circles they can buy the books
Flipkart Credits to the contributors which they can use to buy the book or read e-books.

Kasab ka hisab hua (Kasab was finally billed)

Early morning rush, though not so early at 10:45 a.m I rushed to grab my shoes and simultaneously opened the door and pushed the elevator button. It's hard to imagine how I do all that in a flash of seconds .. but don't they say "practice makes you perfect". Anyways, by the time the lift had come, i had semi-locked the door , worn the socks and pushed my feet into the shoes which had not seen the shoe shiner ever in its poor life. By the time, we(lift and me) reached the ground floor, I was ready in formals , tip to toe.Phew!! why do i always blame myself for bad time management.

Well, pune's awesome climate has mutated into awful one and the acclimatization  process has cost me to drive my car instead of bike and the fact is that I hate being alone in the 5 seating capacity, calls to my colleagues also wouldn't help, they were already in the office.While changing gears, i tried in vain to tune my radio to some songs. It was either ads or ghanta singh on air .

Just then I heard Radio Mirchi playing something totally out of the tune " Kasab ka hissab hua, kaisa lajawab hua". I faintly retraced myself to headlines which i had a glimpse .. Ajmal Kasab held guilty and awarded death sentence". Radio Mirchi was talking to people on the street make them dance on their awful chorus.

I switched off the radio....and an anguish rushed chilling down on my spine and my eyes grew numb. No I am not related to Kasab in any way and neither I wish that he be pardoned..my heart is not that big  enough.having said that I didn't feel that this is a day we should be very proud of as an Indian or even as a human.

First, who is this guy , Kasab , just another terror agent, who knows to kill, why and how is an unimportant to him as to an engineering guy who wants to pass the semester with last minute rote exercise.Hell does he care, why 'a' is 'a' or why 'b' is 'b'. If the system fails him , we would sure not lose a good engineer.Similarly, you sure kill Kasab, does he care or does anyone in his world of terrorism care about him.His fate was sealed the day he wore the cap of terror.Thus this isn't any good solution.

Today we are happy killing this guy , but is it the best India can do or humanity can do. It's a shame on the humanity that it could not make a man who is as equipped as any nobel laureate to end up as a terrorist to be hanged till death. You can't keep passing the baton from Russia to America to Pakistan to Afganistan saying that its your fault .. no its yours .It is our collective fault.We all are at fault . Whole of the existence of human race is at fault and it's our failure which has marked the advent of hitler,saddam,kasab .... and many more in history. So please stop dancing at your own faults and failures.

Kasab killed people and destroyed the lives of many.I agree completely with the statement.So he deserves to be slaughtered. So please do it ... but with remorse not with pride. Remorse , because you know in the heart somewhere , somehow we all are related in his fault and also because , though people who could have rescued him from becoming a terrorist ... never met him in his life, at least not this one.

And if you are rejuvenating for the judgement such that "after all he couldn't escape the law" ; that's again a shame on you ... your system or law of which you are a part is not capable of delivering such straightforward cases without doubt.... There is no bold judgement here ..everything was crystal clear and judiciary or the political system can't be applauded at least not for this case.You didn't say thanks to your mother for serving you food for 15 years.. did you .. so why just one serving of food from judiciary is making you feel gr8 , even after when u had earned it and deserved it...?

I had reached office ...........safely .. somehow i am good at multitasking :)

What Bihar is to India , India is to the world !

Since long, I had been harping on the relationship between Bihar and India, one as a state and other as a nation , yet very close in features and similar in perception. It has been atleast 8 years since i am brewing this coffee over India and its Vihar, yes Vihar shares the same relation with Bihar as Mumbai is to Bombay.

In ISM I could see the first glimpse of the perception soon to be a conviction ; numerous talented folks from Bihar, more than talent , the hunger for success and knowledge was striking.Indians in foreign universities are known for the same ; their hunger for knowledge, their frugal engineering means and the talent unleashed to the best.The eager for government services and the passion with which they crack it has been oustanding, similar to the numerous Phd's and Scientists pursuits abroad.

Bihar is infamous for the same qualities that India has ; corruption, lack of infrastructure,bad politics, failing systems in healthcare and education. If you wish, you can blame bihar for all the malpractices and so can you think about the whole of India.However there is a silver lining in the nimbus. The gdp of bihar is on a rise; the governance is improving and it has seen one of the highest NRB(non resident biharis) investment in real estate. The education curve's is moving well in the positive slope and the healthcare is improving though on a small scale. Same is true for India. In short, taking cue from tedindia, India is the softpower to the world and Bihar is the softpower to India.

Moving on to people; Indians are known for doing petty jobs on foreign soil and so are Biharis. Undoubtedly the most hardworking, they form a support system to the economy they work for, be it Mumbai or US.Biharis have been the hate victims in almost the same way the racist attacks against Indians have been staged abroad. They have been suffering in the same way the Indians are and yet taking every humiliation in their stride, forgiving and sometimes forgetting the wounds inflicted and yet trying to give their best to the foreign lands.

Yes, both of them have been asked to go back to their lands and there is a movement, a nexus building, where we see more professors from abroad joining Indian companies and Indian Universities, and we also see Biharis coming back to Patna and allied cities to start something new.

 Yes there is a wave of change and it definitely threatens the current equation of "Power" both at International and National levels, with India and Bihar playing the cards nicely.

India vs Bharat : The Nation divided

Never had the British thought that their one word, India, for  our nation , Bharat would actually be competing with each other. However the truth stands so; while half of the nation has moved up the status of India, the other half is still in the archaic remains of Bharat. Our nation today stand divided ,apart from religion and states, in its representational form.On one hand where it represents future world leader, India, on the other it remains  a nation put down by poverty and corruption, Bharat. While our economists and educationalists are scaling heights in the world giving name and fame to India, the fact remains that we have one of the highest illiteracy rate in Bharat.At a time when India is showing great efforts to improve healthcare with cashless cards and medical insurance schemes, there are millions of expecting mother in Bharat who die because of lack of healthcare.

A quick introspection reveals that a non inclusive growth strategy of the government along with the vote bank politics has created this divide between India and Bharat. ‘Reservations for inclusive growth’; the idea was good but implemented poorly across the decades failed to achieve its purpose. While large impetuous is given on the growth of revenue generating hubs/metros , the other sectors/cities have been devoid of even a cinch of development and attention.

Furthermore, we are moving towards creating the gap between India and Bharat; current example being the  uprise of Naxal movements. It’s high time we do something before lose our identity as an Indian or Bhartiya . Without such efforts, ‘One India’ would be a distant dream.
