[To get a background visit the recent efforts to save Indian tigers (http://saveourtigers.com/)]
The title of the post is my take on the website, but there are some logic engrossed blokes like me who would say "Boss, this is not the way to deal with such a sensitive issue. You can't just rebuff the efforts of mighty dhoni and some big guy beside him along with the WWF chairman, Mr Singh. They are doing great things by asking the nation to 1.Blog 2 Write to editors of newspaper and ofcourse the all time favorite, donate. Who else could have done this ?
But the "techno-kamina" in me reads the above and says " When you had a train at 6 in the morning, why did you wake up so late and even if you are late , stop calling up folks in the station to hold the train for you, stop appealing to people for the repercussions of your job not done and stop sharing the blame with the layman of the nation, who once in a lifetime visits a zoo to see your tigers". Ofcourse, the aforesaid are the words of the kamina in me and they can be harsh and real most of the time.
The libran that I am, trying to balance the kamina and kutta in me(yes I liked kaminey very much), says"Ok, enough of transfer of blames from bureaucracy to the common you and back to them. Of course, blogging and writing letters to editors at this stage won't help when the attrition rate of tigers (in India) to a greener world in heaven is 66 in last 6 months. Our donations might be helpful though to import some of the tigers from the 1st and 2nd world countries, or wherever they are left , but that's not what we want ... atleast not a pathethic Indian like me want. I would rather save the farmers (some time back it was 1 farmer suicide every 30 mins). So importing the tigers at the cost of humans is still not an option. So what to do ??? continue our bloody work and let our children see the extinct race and take satirical pride in saying " when we were young , we saw an actual... live one"
Ever heard of technology Mr.Bigshots(read Mr Chairmans of wildlife orgs) or for that matter anyone who is still thinking what to do in this case.Tell me how would you feel if at your PC (say a web address I provide you the following info)
1. map of the current(real time) status of all the 1411 tigers left in the country, i.e which part of which jungle or zoo they are at present and probably what they are doing or what is being done to them. Imagine an alert on the sleeping forest officer's cell (" Hey, this is Meera tigress, from x y z location, I am being poached, Please come soon. SOS")
2. The health monitor of the tigers. In the map you would be able to see the real time health vitals of your deer animal, tigers. (no site such as saveourdeer, hence can't include them) and alerts can be sent automatically to the vet doctor if there is a mishap. Based on the alarm generation time and vet's team activity time, you can also make your pot bellied vets to love their work.
3.The history reports(where they visited and what they did) and their probable activities mapping to their location is open to research for animal lovers. (" This cave is the favourite mating sorry meeting place of Pitt and Jolie,my fav tiger couple", you could actually point to this detail). Of course, the tigers won't mind, after all they didn't mind poaching.
And the goodnews is you can extend the above for any animal you love, for me deer... I love them .. they look so harmless.
I am sure no one is actually interested in saving the tigers. I would love to be proved wrong and my confidence shattered. After all, my ego is a small price to pay for the over 1400 lives.
[There is another good news, the above solution may be almost free or at minimal cost but would require some negotiations with a corporate Tiger.Though I believe in "If you are good at something never do it for free"(credit some movie of which i could only remember this line"), it is worth compromising for a better good]
PS : leave me a comment if you like/dislike/want to add something, or just wanna say a hi to your bygone days crush (me) and yeah , if you want to know more or implement the solution , drop me a mail to amritkr@gmail.com
Life's about a journey...a lane to an archaic destination.. predefined since the day we came here. It's not about giving or taking ... but experiencing the bliss in the immortal moments in this mortal world

Well written and well said dude..........:)
I think the idea has merit and might save quite a few "tiger" lives. I am skeptical though of the ability of the forest guards/other conservationists to respond to a "real time" alert.
However, with some planning and execution - maybe hiring motivated guards and assigning them with a reasonable area to cover, building vet clinics with access to ambulances/ basic lifesaving equipment etc. could go a long way.
